Roux is an original six member funk soul band that combines 'old school' quality song writing with a 'new school' vibe. Roux is like
P-Funk meets Fishbone with a splash of Chuck D. The debut album, "The Sunday Plate" is filled with funky-ass grooves, intense and insightful lyrics and will appeal to anyone who likes to dance. The band has been gigging throughout California since January 2000. Soulful vocals, horns, guitar, bass and drums support a high energy and dynamic live show. Clubs include the Knitting Factory and the Temple Bar in LA, and Slim's and Larry Blake's in the Bay Area. Members of Roux have played with P-Funk, Sunshine Anderson and other national and locally acclaimed acts (Broun Fellini's, Spearhead, Gospel Humming Birds and Consolidated).

With an extensive mailing list and west coast tour dates pending, this highly anticipated album is bound to make immediate waves throughout California, the west coast and eventually the nation.

Influences: P-Funk, Fishbone, Public Enemy, Prince, James Brown and D'angelo, Jack Zaza and the Shuffle Demons.
