At Last! Performing with a wide array of home made instruments, industrial waste percussion, and the legacy of John Kane, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum presents to you a highly orchestrated and visceral set of musical exhibits. Whether it be an epic 10 minute crescendo warning the listener that Sleep Is Wrong, the intimate testimony of a Baby Doctor, or the inspired plea to party like its 1997, all the exhibits presented by Sleepytime Gorilla Museum serve as a constant reminder that The Museum of the Future Hides the Past!!!

Prior to the first opening of the Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, two curators, guitarist/vocalist Nils Frykdahl and bassist/instrument builder Dan Rathbun performed for 10 years in the legendary art rock band Idiot Flesh. After the untimely demise of Idiot Flesh in 1998, fellow curators violinist/vocalist Carla Kihlstedt (Tin Hat Trio/Charming Hostess), industrial waste percussionist Moe! Staiano, and drummer Dave Shamrock joined the museum staff to assist in the very first opening and closing of the Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. This first opening and closing occurred two years ago. The sole observer that evening was a banana slug (true story!). In November 2000, drum curator Frank Grau (Species being) replaced former curator Shamrock and the current version of the museum staff was born.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum has now just presented its first recorded exhibit entitled "Grand Opening and Closing." They will be touring consistently throughout 2001 and 2002 while also working on future recorded exhibits.
